A play by Hugh Whitemore based on the book: “Alan Turing, The Enigma” by Andrew Hedges.

A witty intelligent and moving play about the mind and fate of Alan Turing: mathematician and computer pioneer who broke the German Naval Enigma Code at Bletchley Park during World War II. Breaking too, the prevailing gentlemanly code of sexual discretion, at a time of heightened cold-war paranoia, led to his persecution and to tragic consequences.

In this, the centenary year of Turing’s birth in 1912, this production is a timely tribute to a 20th Century genius.

“[The play] is the work of a superb theatrical craftsman who knows how to keep an audience hooked while planting ideas like seeds.” The Guardian
